Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural types and basic parameters, functions, requirements, electrical safety performance, environmental adaptability, test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging of grating rotary encoders. This standard applies to grating rotary encoders (hereinafter referred to as "encoders") that use a circular grating disk as the measurement reference and are used for measuring rotational motion.
