Scope

This standard specifies the characteristics of the background spectrum in spectrometers composed of high-purity germanium detectors. This standard applies to background spectra collected by spectrometers composed of high-purity germanium detectors, especially background spectra collected by low-background detectors. This standard does not deal with the method of reducing the background.
