This International Standard specifies the basic and type testing requirements for acetylene cylinders with and without fuse caps, of a maximum nominal water capacity of 150 l, as well as requirements for test procedures on production batches for the manufacture of acetylene cylinders with a porous material. It does not include the design characteris ics of the cylinder shell, these being specified in particular in is 9809-1, is 9809-3, is 4706 or is 7866.
