- 1.1 Intent The intent of this part of GB/Z 29830 is to provide guidance for safeguarding agencies to select appropriate types of ICT (information and communication technology) safeguarding methods, and lay a framework for analyzing specific safeguarding methods for specific environments. 1.2 Application of this section enables users to match specific assurance needs and/or typical assurance situations with general performance characteristics provided by some of the available assurance methods. 1.3 Fields of application The guidance in this part applies to the development, implementation and operation of ICT products and ICT systems with security requirements. 1.4 Constraints Security requirements can be complex, assurance approaches vary, and organizational resources and cultures vary widely. Therefore, the recommendations given in this section are qualitative and general, and may require users to analyze which methods in Part 2 are most suitable for their specific deliverables and organizational security needs.
