This International Standard specifies evaluation groups of irregularities in laser beam-arc hybrid welded joints for all types of steel, nickel and its alloys. It is to be used for material thicknesses of 0.5 mm. The three evaluation groups are designed in such a way that they allow broad application in welding production. They are labeled B, C and D. Evaluation group B corresponds to the highest requirements for the weld seam. The evaluation groups refer to the manufacturing quality and not to the usability (see 3.3) of the manufactured product.
