Scope

This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of acrylonitrile in cosmetics. This standard applies to the determination of acrylonitrile in creams, lotions, loose powders, shampoos, and lipstick cosmetics. The detection limit of this standard for acrylonitrile is 0.2 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 0.4 mg/kg.
