- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage, and shelf life of imidazolidinyl urea, a preservative used in cosmetics. This standard applies to imidazolidinyl urea. Imidazolidinyl urea is formed from formaldehyde and allantoin by reaction under alkaline conditions, and is used as a preservative in cosmetics.
