Scope: This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage, and shelf life of the preservatives methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone mixed with magnesium chloride and magnesium nitrate. This standard applies to cosmetic preservatives that use methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone as active substances, and magnesium nitrate and a small amount of magnesium chloride formed by the reaction as stabilizers. The preservative is prepared from N,N'-dimethyldithiodipropionamide as the main raw material through chlorination and cyclization.
