Scope

This standard specifies the liquid chromatographic method for the determination of Sudan red pigments I, II, III, and IV in cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of Sudan Red I, II, III and IV in lipstick, lip gloss, powder, powder block and nail polish cosmetics. The detection limit is 50 μg/kg and the quantification limit is 150 μg/kg.
