- This standard specifies a test method for evaluating the lubricating oil carrying capacity of hard steel gears (gear gluing). Scratching is a form of abrasive wear and a form of failure specified in this standard. This standard is mainly used to evaluate the load-carrying capacity of lubricants with a small amount of additives (such as industrial gear oil, transmis ion oil and hydraulic oil, etc.), but is not suitable for evaluating high extreme pressure performance lubricants (such as API GL-4 and GL). -5 specification gear oil) carrying capacity.
