- This standard specifies the basic requirements for the design of reactor coolant leak detection systems in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, the requirements for instruments required to detect leakage flows and methods for detecting leakage flows, as well as methods for dis inguis ing between allowable leakage flows and abnormal leakage flows. This standard applies to the design, review and operation of reactor coolant leak detection systems in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.
