Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for type testing of electrical modules of instrumentation and control systems important to safety in nuclear power plants, including type testing requirements for newly developed modules or improved modules. This standard is applicable to the type testing of electrical modules of important safety instruments and control systems of nuclear power plants. This standard does not apply to the verification and validation of the software used in the module, nor does it apply to the type testing of sensitive components and sensors of important safety instruments and control systems of nuclear power plants.
