This International Standard classifies the types of plaster used in dentistry for the production of impressions, molds, models, master casts or model bases and for articulating models and specifies the corresponding requirements. This standard describes the test procedures to be used to determine compliance with these requirements. It also contains requirements for packaging labeling and appropriate instructions for use, which must be included with each package. This International Standard does not apply to dental bone substitute materials consisting of calcium sulfate hemihydrate (gypsum).
