EN ISO 12996:2013 Mechanical joining - Destructive testing of joints - Specimen dimensions and test procedure for tensile shear testing of single joints
This International Standard contains specifications for the specimen geometry and the method for the shear tensile testing of single-point connections on single- and multi-layer specimens up to a single sheet thickness of 4.5 mm. The term sheet metal as used in this International Standard includes extruded materials and cast materials. The aim of the shear tensile test is to determine the mechanical characteristics and the failure modes of the connections produced using different processes. This standard is not intended to be used in building construction, such as: B. for metal and steel structures covered by other applicable standards.
