This standard specifies the general protection requirements for electrical facilities in outdoor locations under harsh conditions. Note: Protection requirements for overvoltage, lightning, electric corrosion, environment, etc. will be added in the future. This standard (including other parts of GB9089) is applicable to the operation and installation of electrical equipment and systems in outdoor locations (including open-pit mines, quarries, stockyards and similar places) under severe conditions, especially for the following electrical equipment and systems : a. Mining, stacking and primary processing machinery; b. Secondary processing machinery; c. Conveyor system; d. Drainage and water supply system; . Electric trucks; h. Power generation and distribution equipment; i. Control, monitoring, signal, communication systems; j. Auxiliary equipment. Note: The working conditions of electrical facilities under harsh conditions in outdoor places are relatively special. They work in open places and undertake heavy-duty transportation and stacking tasks. The electrical facilities used in this situation have the following characteristics: a. The location of equipment and systems must be changed frequently; b. The working area is large and continuously extended; c. The influence of special environment.
