This part of ISO 16231 standard specifies principles for the assessment of stability in relation to the design and construction of self-propelled agricultural machinery with an operator's seat and the risk of tipping over or tipping over, or both at the same time, when the machine is used as intended and under the conditions intended by the manufacturer . In addition, it determines the type of information on safe working practices (including remaining risks) that must be provided by the manufacturer. This part of ISO 16231 is not applicable to: machines with an empty weight of less than 400 kg; Machinery covered by other machine-specific standards dealing with protection against tipping or overturning (e.g. agricultural or forestry tractors); Dangers associated with driving on the road; the “free fall” of machines; Falling over as a result of an impact. This part of ISO 16231 is not applicable to machines manufactured before the publication date of this standard.
