Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage requirements for wax thermostats for automobile engines (hereinafter referred to as thermostats). This standard applies to thermostats for automobile engines. Engine thermostats for other purposes can also be used with reference.
