This standard applies to the determination of the gas permeability of vulcanized rubber with a hardness not less than 35 IRHD. The gas used should not swell or corrode the rubber. This standard provides a basic method for determining the air permeability of the test specimen under stable conditions of constant pressure on each end face. Results obtained by this method shall not be extrapolated to materials of significantly different thickness than the specimen.
