Scope

This standard specifies the subjective judgment measurement method for determining the sound attenuation of ear defenders using the hearing threshold. The sound attenuation performance data obtained under similar conditions can be compared, and various models of ear protectors can be ranked and graded according to the sound attenuation, which is convenient for users to choose according to their needs, and can have an important impact on performance. Features and design are evaluated. This standard adopts ISO4869-1981 "Acoustics - Measurement of sound attenuation of ear defenders - Subjective method" with reference to ISO4869-1981.
