Scope: This standard specifies the ordering content, classification and marking, size, shape and reference weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, marking and quality certificates of carbon steel strands for optical cable reinforcement. This standard applies to galvanized and phosphated carbon steel strands (hereinafter referred to as steel strands) for reinforced cores for optical cables, self-supporting optical cables and other similar purposes.
