Scope
This part of GB/T 16783 provides standard test procedures for the following properties of oil-based drilling fluids: a) drilling fluid density; b) viscosity and shear force; c) fluid loss; d) oil, water and solid content; e ) alkalinity, chloride and calcium content; f) electrical stability; g) lime, calcium chloride and sodium chloride content; h) low density solid phase and weighting material content, Appendix B, C, D, E, G 1, H, J give additional test methods, which can be selected to test the following properties: a) static shear force; b) oil and water content on cuttings; c) drilling fluid activity; d) aniline point; e) drilling cuttings activity; f) active sulfide; g) non-aqueous drilling fluid sand content, appendix I gives the optional procedures, which can be used for: - glass gauge, thermometer, viscometer, distiller Inspection and calibration of cups and drilling fluid density meters, Appendix F gives examples of the following calculations: --lime, salinity and solids content, this section applies to field testing and analysis of oil-based drilling fluids,
