Scope

This part of the standard specifies a method for the prediction of sound propagation in workplaces and of sound pressure levels and noise exposure in workplaces. The description details of physical phenomena in the noise prediction scheme are closely related to the targeted environment and the modeling method (input parameters, calculation method) of the environment. This section reviews this relationship, describes methods for noise prediction, and provides recommendations for using noise prediction for noise control in the workplace. Appendices A to E give examples of the application of noise prediction methods.
