Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions of solid biomass fuel sample preparation, general principles of sample preparation, equipment and tools, sample preparation procedures, and storage and labeling of samples. This standard is applicable to the following solid biomass fuels: ---fine or regular-shaped granular materials, with a maximum particle size of about 10mm, which can be sampled with a shovel or a probe, such as sawdust, olive pits and wood pellets; --- Coarse or irregularly shaped materials with a maximum particle size of about 200mm, which can be sampled with a fork or shovel, such as wood chips, fruit shells, forest residue fragments, loose grass and straw, etc.; ——Large materials with a particle size greater than 200mm; — - Fiber or waste dewatered on a belt filter press. This standard can be used for the preparation of samples for determination of items such as bulk density, mechanical strength, particle size distribution, and general analysis samples.
