Scope

This standard is applicable to the determination of the specific optical density of smoke produced when plastics are burned, and the maximum specific optical density is taken as the test result. It is only used to evaluate the smoke performance of plastics under specified conditions, and cannot be used as a basis for evaluating the hazards of smoke under actual use conditions.
