This standard specifies the method for determining the fuel consumption limit of operating ships, the calculation formula for the fuel consumption index, and the verification method for the fuel consumption index. This standard applies to dry bulk carriers, container ships and oil tankers of 400 gross tonnage and above that are intended to be put into operation, domestic navigation, using diesel engines as the main propulsion power, including newly built ships, second-hand ships purchased from the international market, and bareboats. Foreign ships leased under leasing conditions, as well as domestic ships converted to operation for other purposes. Container and dry bulk cargo ships shall be implemented with reference to dry bulk cargo ships.
