This method is suitable for determining the oxidation stability of gasoline under accelerated oxidation conditions. The induction period can be used to indicate the tendency of motor gasoline to form gums during storage. However, under different storage conditions and for different gasolines, the correlation between the induction period and the formation of gums during storage may vary significantly.
