Scope
This standard is applicable to measuring the attenuation constant and the resonant frequency of high-frequency symmetrical communication cables (including high-frequency quadruples and high-frequency wire pairs in integrated cables) at any frequency using the open-short-circuit method (arbitrary frequency method for short). Next, use the open-short circuit method (referred to as the resonant frequency method) to measure the attenuation constant of the coaxial pair in the coaxial communication cable. The attenuation range of the tested cable is within 10dB. The test frequency range is below 2.5MHz. If test conditions permit, the frequency range can be extended.
