This part of IEC 60512, when required by the detail specification, is used for testingconnectors. It may also be used for similar devices when specified in a detail specification. Itis particularly, but not exclusively, suitable for connectors with removable contacts.The object of this document is to detail a standard test method to assess the effectiveness ofthe interfacial sealing of a connector against ingress of water by exposure to low pressurewhilst immersed in a salt solution. It is intended to assess the effectiveness of the interfacialsealing means of connectors. Further, if any wires or contacts are not fitted, it assesses thesealing of one cavity
