This Standard establishes requirements for subsurface barrier valves and related tools as defined in this standard. Requirements for design, testing, manufacture and post manufacture are included. An informative annex is included to provide guidance on the use of the products. The Subsurface Barrier Valve is an operational device and is not intended or designed as an emergency failsafe flow controlling safety device. This Standard does not cover the connections to the well conduit, operational procedures/limitations, and installation or redress activities.
