This handbook on resident environmental assessment has been prepared as a tool in relation to the general legislation on Boernemiljoe in day care (LOV no. 485) applicable as of 1 July 2006 (and 1 January 2007 for municipal day care). The law requires that all municipal and independent day care facilities, municipal day care providers and pool schemes and private institutions must prepare a written children's environment assessment within 3 years. The living environment assessment must contain a mapping of the day care's physical, psychological and aesthetic living environment, and must also contain a description of any living environment problems as well as an action plan.
