Scope

The standardization of non-book material description is one of the foundations of the modernization of non-book material management. This standard is formulated for the purpose of establishing and improving a unified non-book material reporting and retrieval system in my country, carrying out international bibliographic information exchange, and better developing and utilizing non-book material resources. This standard is formulated according to the principles of GB3792.1-83 "General Rules for Document Description" and "International Standard Bibliographic Description (Non-book Materials)" [ISBD (NBM)], aiming at the characteristics of non-book materials and combining with the actual situation of our country. The description objects stipulated in this standard are non-book materials recorded in audio, visual and other ways.
