Scope: This standard specifies the test methods for three-phase synchronous motors. This standard applies to synchronous motors, generators and synchronous condensers with a rated power of 1kW (kVA) and above. It is not applicable to synchronous motors without DC excitation windings. The test of synchronous motors powered by static variable frequency power supply can be used as a reference.
