This part of GB/T 18494 gives users the differences between industrial and HVDC power transmission converter transformers in terms of design, structure, test and operation and conventional transformers for power systems. In addition, the technical background of GB/T 18494.1 and GB/T 18494.2 is also given to the manufacturer. This Part is applicable as a supplement to GB/T 13499 "Guidelines for the Application of Power Transformers", but does not replace GB/T 13499, because the general principles contained in GB/T 13499 are also applicable to converter transformers.
