This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of die forgings and hand forgings procured to inch/pound units. MAM 4131 is the metric version of this AMS. These forgings have been used typically for parts requiring a combination of good strength and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, but usage is not limited to such applications.
