This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, markings, packaging, transportation and storage, and instructions for use of holmium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser therapy machines. This standard applies to laser treatment machines (hereinafter referred to as treatment machines) that use yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) doped with Cr, Tm, and Ho ions as the working medium and emit laser wavelengths near 2.1 μm. The treatment machine can be used for cutting, vaporizing, coagulating human tissue, and crushing stones in the body.
