- This standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for steel pipes (casing, tubing, plain end casing liners and pup joints) and accessories. This standard is applicable to the following types of connection of load ISO 10422 or API Spec 5B: ——short round thread casing connection (STC); ——long round thread casing connection (LC); ——button trapezoidal thread casing connection (BC) ; - direct casing connection (XC); - non-upset tubing connection (NU); - externally upset tubing connection (EU); - integrally connected tubing connection (IJ). For these connections, this standard specifies the technical delivery conditions for couplings and thread protection. This standard specifies the size, weight, wall thickness, steel grade, and applicable end preparations for pipe. This standard is also applicable to pipes with connections not covered by ISO/API standards. The 4 groups of products to which this standard applies include pipes of the following grades: - Group 1: all casing and oil pipes of grades H, J, K, N; - Group 2: grades C, L, M, T - Group 3: all casings and oil pipes of steel grade P; - Group 4: all casings of steel grade Q. Casings with specification code 1 greater than 4 1/2 but less than 10 3/4 can be used as oil pipes as specified by the purchaser, see Tables C.1, C.24, C.30 and C.31 or Tables E.1 and E. 24. E.30 and E.31. Appendix A gives the supplementary requirements that can be selected through negotiation between the purchaser and the manufacturer: non-destructive testing, semi-finished couplings, thickened casings, electric welding casings, impact tests, couplings with sealing rings and certificates of conformity. This standard does not apply to thread processing requirements.
