This standard specifies the method for the determination of weight loss on ignition at 550°C and weight loss on ignition between 550°C and 950°C for scale and corrosion products in industrial circulating cooling water. This standard is suitable for the determination of weight loss on ignition at 550°C and weight loss on ignition between 550°C and 950°C of dirt and corrosion products in industrial circulating cooling water. The weight loss on ignition at 550°C can be used to estimate the content of organic matter and combined water in dirt and corrosion products. The weight loss on ignition between 550°C and 950°C can be used to estimate the content of carbonates in dirt and corrosion products.
