This standard is related to the general method defined in GB/T 18719 for the application of thermal spray coatings. These coatings are used for the regeneration of out-of-tolerance and worn parts, or to enhance the surface properties of special-purpose parts. For example: providing properties such as wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, electrical and thermal conductivity, insulation and thermal barrier, and corrosion resistance. This standard does not intend to specify a clear method for specific work, but attention should be paid to the correct selection of processes, materials and skills of thermal spraying workers specified in GB/T 19824. In addition, this standard does not include the requirements for the protection of steel structures in GB/T 9793, nor the application of sprayed remelting self-fluxing alloy coatings in GB/T 16744.
