Scope

This standard specifies the characteristics of image quality meters used in non-destructive testing radiography, and specifies the identification symbols of image quality meters. This standard is based on radiographic experience with steels, but generalization is attempted for all metals. For special materials (such as aluminum and its alloys), supplementary standards may be issued.
