B30. 12 applies to the protection of flight crews, ground personnel, and property on the surface while working directly with or in the vicinity of rotorcraft conducting external load operations. Within the general scope as defined in Section I, B30. 12 applies to the handling of loads suspended from rotorcraft using a cargo sling or powered hoist, or other attaching means, to lift, carry, pull, or tow a jettisonable load outside of therotorcraft airframe.
