Scope: This standard specifies the performance, test methods, operating systems, operating forces and component strengths of braking systems installed on the following industrial vehicles as defined in ISO 5053: - motorized industrial vehicles of various lifting/carrying capacities; - rated Industrial tractors with a pulling force not exceeding 20 000 N; - carrier vehicles; - powered industrial vehicles for handling containers. This standard does not apply to power failure and any other auxiliary power failure, nor does it apply to braking in emergency situations (such as: opening the emergency switch or shutting down the control system). This standard applies to industrial vehicles (hereinafter referred to as vehicles) manufactured after the release of this standard.
