Scope: 1.1 This standard establishes the test methods for the performance characteristics of each component of the analog and digital pulse-echo ultrasonic nondestructive testing instrument with screen display. Its purpose is to establish a unified evaluation method to provide a basis for the comparison of test data obtained at different laboratories and at different times and the analysis and processing of measurement results. This standard does not specify the acceptance criteria, which should be specified by the user. General components of ultrasonic testing equipment and their performance characteristics, including methods for measuring these performance characteristics, are listed in 1.2 to 1.6. 1.2 Power supply part—linear regulation; —battery discharge time; —battery charge time. 1.3 Pulse generator part - pulse shape; - pulse amplitude; - pulse rise time; - pulse width; - pulse spectrum. 1.4 Receiver section—vertical linearity;—frequency response;—noise and sensitivity;—gain control. 1.5 Time base part - horizontal linearity; - clock (pulse repetition frequency). 1.6 Gate and/or alarm section - delay and gate width; - resolution; - alarm level; - identity of gain; - analog output; - linearity of back echo gate.
