Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging and storage of saturated polyester resins for thermosetting powder coatings. This standard applies to thermosetting saturated polyester resins obtained by polycondensation of polycarboxylic acids (or anhydrides) and polyols. The products are used in the manufacture of epoxy polyester powder coatings, pure polyester powder coatings and polyurethane powder coatings.
