- Scope
- This guideline applies to systems in the process industry, e.g. B. the chemical and petrochemical industries, especially if they are subject to the Major Accident Ordinance. It is based on the harmonized standard DIN EN 61511 (IEC 61511). The security of such systems using process control technology (PLT) is described. For the integration of process control technology into the overall safety concept, see VDI/VDE 2180 Sheet 2, Section 1 and Figure 1. This guideline provides assistance for the planning, installation and operation of PLT protective devices.
