Scope
The purpose of this standard is to provide background information for the development of evaluation methods based on microprocessor-based instruments. The assessment begins with an analysis of the instrumentation in terms of internal and external information flows into and out of the process, operators and external systems, and then identifies the main functional blocks of the instrumentation. By using the inspection items given in 4.2 and 4.3, it is possible to identify The functions and characteristics in the functional blocks of the instrument being assessed. 4.4 gives the inspection items for evaluating the instrument under the relevant influence conditions. Depending on the application of the instrument, the user of this standard may need to define further functions and characteristics or influencing conditions.
