Scope

This standard specifies methods for determining the opacity of plastic pipes and fittings. This standard applies to plastic pipes and fittings. Recommended transmittance values for opaque pipes and fittings are given in Appendix A. Note: To prevent the growth of algae, pipes or fittings used to convey water exposed to visible light should be sufficiently opaque.
