Scope

This standard specifies the application of water spray systems in the petroleum industry. Methods of reducing structural damage to process equipment by spraying water with fire resistors, fire hoses, or fire sprinklers are outside the scope of this standard. This standard applies to petrochemical products that do not react with water and have similar physical and combustion characteristics to hydrocarbons.
