Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of coating damage in ship's ballast tanks, inspection methods, and evaluation and calculation methods of coating damage area. This standard applies to ships' dedicated seawater ballast tanks that meet the requirements of the "Performance Standard for Protective Coatings for Seawater Ballast Tanks Specialized in All Types of Ships and Double-Side Spaces on Bulk Carriers" (PSPC in English) formulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Evaluation and calculation of coating damage area when coating double-side skin spaces of bulk carriers. The evaluation and calculation of the damaged area of coatings when painting cabins of other ships can also be carried out by reference.
