- This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection and evaluation methods and ratings of the metallographic structure of rare earth eutectic aluminum-silicon alloy (referred to as 66-1 alloy) pistons after heat treatment. This standard is applicable to the inspection of the metallographic structure of rare earth eutectic aluminum-silicon alloy pistons of reciprocating internal combustion engines with a cylinder diameter not greater than 200 mm.
