- This standard specifies the implementation method of user access line (port) identification in broadband access networks such as DSL, PON, and LAN under IPv4 and IPv6 environments, and specifies DSLAM, PON equipment, Ethernet switches, BRAS/SR equipment or Network devices such as DHCP servers report the encoding format of user access line (port) identification to the broadband backend management system (RADIUS server) through PPPoE relay agents, DHCP/DHCPv6 relay agents, etc. This standard applies to broadband access equipment (ADSL/ADSL2+, VDSL2, EPON/10G-EPON, GPON/XG-PON, LAN access equipment), BRAS/ SR, DHCP server and AAA system.
